You ask, we answer.
Are the products vegan, soy and gluten free?
Yes, all nucao and nupro varieties are vegan, soy and gluten free.
Where do the individual ingredients come from and how is it ensured that all ingredients are organic?
We attach great importance to the quality of our products and select our producers according to strict criteria. We have set ourselves the goal of purchasing the ingredients exclusively from certified and, if possible, regional organic producers from Germany and Europe. For some of our ingredients, such as cocoa, however, regional sourcing is unfortunately not possible.
I have a nut allergy, can I still eat the products?
nucao based always on nuts and hemp seeds. The variety of nuts varies according to taste. If you are only allergic to a certain type of nut, you should check the ingredients of the nut again to see which variety is suitable for you.
Which amino acids does nucao contain?
As you probably know, there are a total of 21 amino acids that our body needs to build up all vital proteins. 8 of these 20 acids (tryptophan, isoleucine, valine, methionine, leucine, lysine, phenylalanine, threonine) belong to the essential amino acids, but our body cannot produce them itself and they have to be supplied to our organism with the diet. And now the good news. In nucao are all 8 essential amino acids which makes them optimal protein suppliers. The exact amino acid profile of our nucao bars can be seen in the following diagram:
How should nucao be stored?
The nucao bars melt at temperatures of about 30°C. In order not to end up with chocolate, the bars should generally not be left in the sun for a long time and should be stored away from light. If you like chocolate a bit cooler and more bite resistant, you can also store the bars in the fridge.
Tip: If you want to avoid the whitish/grey haze (so-called fat bloom) that is often seen on all kinds of chocolate, it is generally recommended to store the bars in a cool, dark and dry place. If it does occur - don't panic, fat bloom purely affects the appearance of the product, the bar is ready to eat without hesitation.
Where does the cocoa come from?
Regarding the composition of our nucao bars nothing has changed in the last year - Indian word of honour. Our recipe is the tried and tested. However, we no longer use raw cocoa. In recent years we have read a lot about the nutritional benefits of raw cocoa compared to "conventional" organic cocoa and have also carried out some analyses ourselves regarding its antioxidant content. It turned out that high-quality cocoa is in no way inferior to raw cocoa. In some cases we were even able to show that fine dark chocolate has a higher antioxidant content than chocolate made from raw cocoa of the same composition. However, since it is far from our intention, on the basis of our newly gained knowledge, to fool our customers into thinking that there is no such thing as a health advantage, we have taken the step of saying goodbye to raw cocoa.
