Wrapping gifts with a difference - Furoshiki

A furoshiki is a sustainable swaddling cloth. Cloth has been used in Japan for packaging and transportation for over 1,000 years. Even today, many Japanese use a furoshiki to transport their groceries. It is also ideal for wrapping gifts. And so it goes:

1. Cut the furoshiki into a square and place the gift in the middle.

2. Fold the top corner of your towel over the gift directly to the bottom corner of the towel and drape under the gift if necessary. Now place the lower corner of the cloth over the fabric up to the middle and fold it so that it overlaps.

3. Grab the ends of the fabric on the right and left of the cloth, overlap them and tie them together. Finished!

Tip: Decorate your gift with flowers, ribbons, fruits or cones.
